Product Owner/Product Manager, DevOps Security

Dell’s Product and Application Security team builds and delivers world-class capabilities which infuses security into the development processes and instills a security culture among Dell developers.  They enable Dell and our Customers to securely engage in digital transformation by providing Dell development teams the knowledge and capabilities required to ensure that the code developed and integrated in Dell products, applications and services is inherently secure throughout its lifecycle; and they promptly respond to reported vulnerabilities to keep deployed products and applications secure.

What you’ll achieve
As a DevOps Security Product Owner, you will play the focal point of contact and thought leader for security automation features in DevOps CI/CD pipelines for business applications and infrastructure as code. You will be primarily responsible and accountable for the definition, roadmap, execution, launch, communication, and success KPI of the program. This includes identifying and understanding the key DevSecOps industry trends, regularly communicating with stakeholders, prioritizing, and defining user requirements, writing crisp and complete user stories, and working with engineering teams to deliver an excellent user experience while adhering to a robust release schedule.
 

You will:

• Devise a compelling vision to drive forward Dell Technologies’ security capabilities that fits in with the principles of DevOps/continuous delivery approach to the software development lifecycle.
• Be customer driven. Understand customers’ pain points and needs, gather requirements from internal and as well as external stakeholder including developers, security champions, leaders and executives to automate security scanning tasks (such as static code scan, dynamic application, container image, and network scanning of applications) and infrastructure as code templates (such as Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, and Azure ARM).
• Create vision and multi-year roadmaps for products and programs. Collaborate with stakeholders across to gather technical requirements, demo functionality, and gather feedback. Assess priority, value, development cost of features and plan implementation.
• Using the architecture and the technical requirements as the basis, create vertically sliced user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Work closely with SMEs, product development teams to ensure that milestones are met as committed. Utilize Agile (Scrum) methodologies to ensure incremental delivery and seek feedback on incremental features. Adapt and pivot as needed.

Essential Requirements

• 7+ years of demonstrated ability to work cross-organizationally to gather business requirements, track and measure against goals, objectives or KPIs.
• Experience with designing automated, scalable and distributed applications, automation management and CI/CD orchestration with Jenkins / Gitlab CI, and either as a product manager, product owner or a software engineer.
• Knowledge or experience with Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes.
• ands-on experience with Node, Python or Shell, Linux scripting preferred.
• Experience in using and building Docker based deployments preferred.

Desirable Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of related experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or similar role.
