About this job: Responsible for providing state of the art design and / or consultancy for Aggreko power generation projects and providing related technical support. This includes supporting technical documentation for inclusion in Sales bids and Operational projects and reviewing design packages submitted by 3rd party design consultancy firms. The primary focus of the role is the Eastern European business (mainly Romania requirements driven), however international customers from within the Continental Europe region are in scope.
Your key responsibilities:
- Preparation of Project Design Pack documentation or review of design packages submitted by 3rd party design consultancy firms. This includes technical reports, calculation briefs, scope of work, distribution schemes, single line diagrams, lists of quantities, specifications, documentation of approvals, etc, prior to inclusion in sales proposals and project contractual documentation.
- Works closely with SME’s and Project Engineers to ensure that project application design is accurate and fit for purpose according to Aggreko customer requirements.
- Liaise with client’s technical staff and visit potential job sites, as required, to verify project needs.
- Advise Sales team on project specific design issues and propose engineering solutions.
- Analysis of client system load profiles and electrical plant characteristics to determine sizing of power generation packages.
- Analysis and interpretation of electrical drawings to determine parameters for safe and efficient connection of power packages to customers’ electrical distribution systems.
- Perform electrical fault level calculations and protection studies for MV/HV.
- Compilation of electrical and mechanical systems schematic drawings using CAD.
- Compilation of engineering design reports for submission to clients and management.
- Capture projects lessons learned to contribute to Operations excellence.
- Ensure compliance in applying the technical regulations and laws relevant for the projects assigned.
- Ensures the adherence of all project designs to the relevant quality, safety, environmental and legal standards.
- By example, set the highest possible standards in promotion of HS&E culture, ensuring compliance with Aggreko QHSE policy.
- Specification and collaboration with the Procurement department for the acquisition of engineering equipment.
- Confer with engineering, technicians, and/or customers to establish and evaluate changes to the design.
- Gives engineering assistance as required to Operational Projects.
- Participate to regional initiatives and technical capabilities improvement to assist with achieving business targets.
- Support Aggreko sector specialization approach by contributing to sectors regulatory watch and technical/technological transformation mapping.

Education | Qualifications
- Mandatory requirement: Engineering Qualification – Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc or MSc), Thermal Energetics, Electro Energetics.
- Mandatory requirement: National Authority for Energy Regulation (ANRE) authorized electrician – minimum IIIA, preferred IVA.
- Master or PhD degree in electrical systems – preferred and an added plus.
Professional skills | Experience
- Mandatory: Proven working experience of minimum 5 years in electrical systems design.
- A plus: Strong technical background in power generation, load banks, transformers, electrical distribution, protection systems.
- A plus: Experience in installation, operational and commissioning MV/HV equipment.
- Mandatory requirement: Full proficiency of electrical design software (eg AutoCad).
- A plus: Advanced skills on Electrical modelling software (eg PowerFactory or ETAP).
- Full proficiency of computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint, Excel.
- Mandatory requirement: English – upper intermediate to advanced level (written and spoken); Romanian (native level).
- Mandatory requirement: Driving license – category B (25% field activity).
