Requirements:

  • You have an intermediate proficiency in French, B1 minimum
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field OR equivalent practical experience
  • 0–2 years of QA or software testing experience (entry level)
  • Foundational knowledge of the Ignition platform (Ignition Gateway, Vision, Perspective, tag data, alarms, SQL queries) and a willingness to learn more
  • Understanding of software testing concepts: test plans, test cases, defect tracking, regression testing
  • Basic scripting skills (Python/Jython) or a strong willingness to learn and apply them within Ignition
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail) is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with great attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to work well in a team
  • Interest in industrial automation, SCADA/OT environments, and hands-on testing

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with QA, development, and OT engineers to design and execute test cases for Ignition-based modules (Vision, Perspective, Ignition Gateway, pooling of tags/alarms, SQL Bridge, scripting)
  • Create, maintain, and execute manual and, where appropriate, automated test scripts and test data
  • Document and track defects in our bug-tracking system (e.g., Jira); verify fixes and perform regression testing
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and traceability matrices to ensure requirements coverage
  • Perform validation of features against functional and non-functional requirements
  • Contribute to test automation efforts using Python/Jython scripting and Ignition’s scripting capabilities where applicable
  • Assist in configuring test environments and, when needed, work with lab or field test setups (SCADA/PLC environments)
  • Report test results, defects, and metrics to the QA lead and project stakeholders; participate in daily stand-ups and sprint reviews
  • Support release activities by validating builds, environments, and deployment steps
  • Proactively identify process improvements to enhance QA efficiency and product quality
