Projects from A-Z, this is how we do it!

At Contec, we realise projects from A to Z. Depending on the project, you will either work independently or as part of a team to realise the client’s digitisation requirements. The assignments are often very different and versatile, so it is important that you are very interested in software development and getting to the bottom of industrial and administrative processes.

Some of your duties:

• As an application engineer, you form the bridge between the client and the Contec proprietary application. With the functional input of the client and the functional analyst, complex procedures are prototyped and implemented in the application. Here, listening to the client and understanding their processes and procedures is very important;
• Using best practices and coaching, you are able to guide colleagues and delegate tasks during software development. We strongly believe in knowledge sharing to take each other to a better level;
• You draw up functional test plans for our internal tests as well as test plans that are run together with the customer for software acceptance;
• You configure and set up in-house developed MOM systems for the customer;
• You support the customer regarding the installed software modules.

• You have a higher degree focused on Computer Science (Electronics-ICT, Applied Computer Science,…) or are equivalent through experience;
• You feel comfortable working project based;
• You think in a problem-solving and proactive way;
• You are assertive, communicative and customer-oriented;
• You have a driver’s license;
• You speak and write English fluently;
• You can work both autonomously and in a team;
• You are familiar with AS-IS, TO-BE, ROIs, Gap analyses, requirement analyses and re-engineering;
• Experience with concepts such as agile, scrum, eventstorming or UML is a plus;
• Affinity with concepts within the manufacturing or process world such as OEE, SPC, CIL, CIP and lean is a plus;
• Knowledge of these technologies is a requirement:
  • Microsoft SQL server and SQL dialect (T-SQL)
  • GIT
• Knowledge of these technologies is a plus:

– HTML5, CSS, JavaScript

– C#

– Automated testing

– Notion of industrial communication protocols such as OPC, MQTT…
