We are seeking a highly analytical and innovative Data Scientist to join our team. You will leverage your expertise in statistics, machine learning, and data analysis to turn complex data into actionable insights and predictive models. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and other data professionals to drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Activities:

  • Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing data from various sources to ensure data quality;
  • Support the development and validation of statistical models and machine learning algorithms;
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and insights;
  • Generate reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders;
  • Collaborate with senior data scientists, engineers, and business teams to understand data needs and project objectives;
  • Help maintain and update data pipelines and databases;
  • Participate in research and experimentation with new analytical techniques and tools;
  • Assist in automating repetitive data tasks using scripting languages such as Python or R;
  • Support data governance and compliance efforts by following organizational data policies;
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in data science and analytics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience;
  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar data analytics or research role;
  • Strong knowledge of statistics (descriptive, inferential, hypothesis testing, etc.);
  • Expertise in machine learning algorithms and frameworks (supervised/unsupervised learning, model evaluation, etc.);
  • Proficiency with Python for data analysis, visualization, and modeling (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, etc.);
  • Solid understanding of database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL); able to write queries and manipulate large datasets;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team;
  • Good communication skills in English and/or French.
